New Qatar circuit is added to the Formula 1 calendar for this season and the following ten seasons.
Formula 1 definitively closes its calendar this season. There was a venue yet to be confirmed and, this Thursday, the organization of the World Cup makes, finally, official what has already been heard for weeks: Qatar joins the 'Great Circus' from this same 2021. The appointment will take place in November (19-21), which will lead to the first Qatari Grand Prix in the history of F1, at the Losail Circuit and under the lights of the hundreds of floodlights that run through the track at night in Qatar. Just like MotoGP has done since 2007.
Formula 1 announces a ten-year agreement with the Losail track that will begin to run from the grand prix to be held in 2023. And it is that next year, 2022, it will not have the race in Qatar, which will focus on the World Cup. One of the most important events in sport that will set its starting point just one year after the celebration of the F1 race this coming November. Of course, from that moment on, the appointment will be held, apparently, in a new circuit or a Losail circuit that could be modified.
